    1. It would be a fun way to make a living if only one could sing, play a musical instrument or write funny lyrics.

  2. oh glorious 60's humour (before the f-word took over). I have friends who endure colonoscopies (FFS) when all they have to do is only eat meat once per week. at the first sign of a polyp this vegetarian shall merely open a vein.

  3. yes, 'merely'. I am a Quality Of Life person, no ventilators wanted, no Twilight Home for the Terminally Bewildered.
I have next to me right now, and always, my Swann-Morton surgical scalpel and a fresh sealed No.10 blade.
Compared with what one must endure with treatment for any of the cancers, opening a vein ones-self is economical, ecological, and avoids a hideous gradual decline. I have no assets and no debt and via my zero-balance high-limit mastercard, Which?bank would buy us all a fabulous party for me to say goodbye to the constant pain I have.
Did you know that Beneficiaries also inherit any Debt of The Deceased?

    1. Ann, I totally agree with you about the quality of life issue. In some cases, elderly people [or others] are being kept alive for the sake of it. Not just ludicrous, but morally suspect to deny people the right to decide for themselves. The popular expression of wishes often revolves around ideas like "being kept alive artificially, or turning off the machine" but of course medicine does not work that way - there is usually nothing to turn off.

Some cancers are worse than others, but would I want to tackle ovarian cancer head on? Not in a million years.

Beneficiaries inherit debt? Mulling over that news might be an interesting way to pass some time!

    1. Speechless? Is that why one of your own customers observed you did not reach the word minimum of 1000 for one of your posts?
Just as well what you do write is interesting, witty, and well decorated!

    2. Flattery will get you everywhere ... and now I've changed that pesky blog post series title meant to be a clever reference to pictures/1000 words to 'A postcard from ...' because I hope that means everyone will 'get' it!!!!

    3. The postcard theme works well. I, for one, am happy to judge a post by its cover title.
BTW I have never been to Nimbin. At least I don't think so. Maybe it's like the '60s... if you remember it, you weren't really there?
