in humour veritas

Ron Cobb was born in the USA but came to live in Australia in 1972. His political cartoon phase blended nicely with the sweeping social reform Gough Whitlam promised.

I still have my copy of his first Australian book. [No, I’m not a hoarder! This is not “stuff” – it’s valuable ephemera.]

This one reminds me of a truly offensive joke a bus driver told when I was travelling from Katherine to Adelaide in the 70s. [Political Correctness did some good before it became a victim of ‘spin’]

Of course, they all more or less speak for themselves.

  2. It's probably politically incorrect to say so, but I find clever, but politically incorrect cartoons to actually have more impact than the bland but politically correct ones they've morphed into.

    1. At least the odious equation of 'politically incorrect' with 'Un-Australian' seems to have stopped.
